The Local History Room Committee (LHRC) oversees town history displays, programs, collections, and fair use materials. Additionally the group reviews and evaluates materials to add to the town’s historic collections. The LHRC meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM in the local history room located within the library at 1985 Baird Road. These meeting are open to the public.
Collections and materials are available for review during normal LHR hours or by appointment by contacting the town historian at 585 340-8740 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org

Volunteers are essential to the Local History Room. It's our goal to make volunteering as enjoyable for you as it is valuable for us. If you enjoy history and are a lifelong learner, then volunteering at LHRM may be for you.
We seek volunteers from diverse backgrounds to help tell the story of Penfield. From greeting visitors and groups to working behind the scenes on cataloging materials, organizing records or scanning photos, every volunteer brings meaning to the work that they do.
