As was previously noted last week a resident petition was submitted to the Town of Penfield on December 20, 2017 calling for a Public Referendum on the Town’s intended purchase of the Shadow Pines golf course property from Dolomite/Oldcastle.
There was a five day period following the filing of the petition during which time the petition could be reviewed and an objection could be filed. No objection was received by the deadline of Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 5:00 PM.
Legal procedure requires the Penfield Town Board to hold a Public Referendum as called for in the petition no less than 60 days, and no more than 75 days, from the filing of the petition. This means the vote would need to fall between February 18 and March 5.
As of today, December 29, the Town and the Seller have a signed Letter of Intent and continue good faith negotiations for a Purchase and Sales Agreement acceptable to both parties.
I will share further updates as more details become available.
