My office has received questions today regarding who is eligible to vote in the Public Referendum for Shadow Pines on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road.
In order to vote, residents must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a US citizen
- You must have lived in Penfield at least 30 days immediately prior to February 27, 2018
- You must be at least 18 years old as of February 27, 2018
- You must be a registered voter
If you are not a registered voter, you have an opportunity to register on February 14, 2018 from 12 noon to 6:00 PM at the Penfield Town Hall, 3100 Atlantic Avenue. Official election inspectors will be on hand to register new voters.
Further, if you cannot attend the February 14, 2018 voter registration event at the Town Hall, you may still register to vote for this Special Election with the Monroe County Board of Elections. Applications must be received (in person or by mail) by February 20, 2018 at 5:00 PM. (Reminder, the Board of Elections and US Post Office are closed Monday, February 19, 2018 in observance of Presidents’ Day.)
I encourage all residents to go to www.penfield.org for the most timely information on the Shadow Pines property.
I will share further updates as details become available.
