The Penfield Town Board has determined there will not be a special town-wide collection of residential tree debris.
Penfield DPW will be clearing and removing trees, limbs, and related storm debris only from public right of ways and areas that present a public safety concern. These hazards have been identified and are being addressed. Crews are clearing trees that have fallen directly into the right of way and impaired roadways, sidewalks, and public entry/exits points. No trees/limbs should be moved from private property into the right of way. If you have a question or concern about the status of a downed tree please call DPW at 340-8710 and a foreman will assess your situation.
RG&E is working independently on issues that affect power restoration, this may include management of downed or standing trees.
As always, residents may drop off limbs and branches at the Highway garage, 1607 Jackson Road, Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Sign in at the office at the time of drop-off. (This is a year-round service.) Only branches and shrubs may be dropped off. No stumps, leaves, grass, or concrete or other debris will be accepted.
As a reminder, this year’s Spring Drop-off for residents is May 18 (7:30 AM to 5:00 PM) and May 19 (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM) at 1607 Jackson Road.
