You may have noticed that the edges and center line of Five Mile Line Road were recently milled. This was done in preparation for a micro-paving top that will be placed on August 15 depending on weather. Five Mile Line Road is a county road and our DPW is assisting on this project.
The Penfield Wellness Committee, in conjunction with our 17-member Health Care Consortium, is excited to begin the 2019 Drink 8 to Hydrate Challenge! What is Drink 8 to Hydrate? It is a four-week hydration challenge designed to encourage you to develop the practice of drinking at least eight glasses of water per day. The challenge runs August 12 to September 15. The committee asked me to encourage all of our residents to drink at least eight 8 oz. glasses of water per day throughout the challenge period. You will be amazed on how much better you feel…good luck and stay hydrated this summer!
I close this week’s column recognizing the life of Judge Richard Rosenbaum. He was an individual who was larger than life—with a smile for everyone and a voice that filled a room. He played a role in national politics, advising four US Presidents as the Monroe County GOP Chairman, New York State Republican Chairman, and then Republican National Committeeman.
A former State Supreme Court Justice and advisor to Governor Nelson Rockefeller, Richard Rosenbaum twice attempted to obtain the nomination for New York State Governor; first in 1982 against businessman Lewis Lehrman and again in 1994 against eventual Governor George Pataki. He was a friend to many in the Rochester legal community, having served as a long-time partner at the Nixon Peabody law firm.
Rest in peace Judge, and thank you for your service to your town, county, and state. You have left a lasting mark on both the legal and political front across this state.
Until next week, enjoy the ongoing stretch of nice weather. Stop by the amphitheater over the next few weeks to enjoy the remainder of the summer concert series.
