The annual Tastin’ the Blues amphitheater event is fast approaching, so mark your calendars for this very popular event that includes music performed by Steve Grills & the Roadmasters, featuring Joe Beard, a chili cook-off, and a beer sampling event! The program will be held on Saturday, September 14, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at the Penfield Amphitheater, on the Kiwanis Stage located behind the town hall.

Also at this event, we will feature the second annual Dogs Day Out. There will be an agility course to try games for dogs and their humans, and DIY healthy dog treats. Dogs must be vaccinated, friendly, and on-leash for this event. Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs. The event begins at 12:00 PM and will be located across the road from the amphitheater.

My office is starting to receive calls and emails asking when the annual Penfield/Webster Household Hazardous Waste event will be held. It is scheduled for Saturday, September 14 at the Webster DPW, located at 1005 Picture Pkwy (off Hard Road) from 7:45 AM to 12:15 PM. Appointments are required. Schedule your time slot online at www.monroecounty.gov/ecopark or contact the DPW offices at 340-8710. All collected material is properly recycled or disposed of and no harmful materials are sent to the landfill.
