- Supervisor’s Update: Tuesday, April 28

I recently shared that our annual Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance will not be held as usual in Veterans’ Memorial Park because social distancing prevents us from gathering in person. Instead, Penfield TV will present a video tribute. This may be viewed on Monday, May 25 on Spectrum cable channel 1303, web stream at www.penfieldtv.org , and through the Penfield Television app on your streaming media device—ROKU, AppleTV, and Amazon Fire. Search your device's app store for "Penfield TV." Our guest speaker this year is Rick Gough from the Penfield American Legion Braman Post #1229.

While the celebration format has changed, the Town of Penfield, in conjunction with American Legion Braman Post #1229 Penfield, will still hold the traditional Memorial Day Essay Contest for students in grades 6-8 who live in Penfield or who attend a school in the Penfield school district. This year’s theme is “What Makes America Great?” Cash prizes will be awarded!

This is a great opportunity for students to reflect upon the topic and express themselves at this unprecedented time. If you have students in grades 6-8 in your life, please encourage them to participate.
