The Penfield Art Association (PAA) is gearing up for their 2013 Spring Show, which takes place June 10 – 14 at Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Monday, June 10, from 7 – 9 PM. The recipient of the PAA's annual student scholarship award will be introduced during the opening. The judge for this year’s show is Rochester artist Tom Lightfoot who is an associate professor of fine arts at Rochester Institute of Technol

Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance

The Town of Penfield will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance on Monday, May 27 at Penfield Amphitheater in Veterans’ Memorial Park, 3100 Atlantic Avenue. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am.
This annual ceremony will feature a variety of tributes to veterans and active military personnel, including guest speaker Monroe County Legislator Dan Quatro, and reflective music provided by Penfield Pops Band under the direction of Dick Stacy.

FREE Guided Scenic Paddle May 11

The Penfield Trails Committee will sponsor a free guided canoe and kayak paddle on Saturday, May 11, 9:00 – 11:00 am.
This guided paddle tour along Irondequoit Creek will head downstream from Ellison Park through the narrows and the marshland, viewing the spring flora and fauna along the way. It will continue on downstream to Empire Blvd. and disembark at LaSalle’s Landing.
