The Town of Penfield will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance on Monday, May 27 at Penfield Amphitheater in Veterans’ Memorial Park, 3100 Atlantic Avenue. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 AM.
“Honoring our fallen service personnel is always important,” said Penfield Town Supervisor Tony LaFountain. “We can never allow our heroes and their service to this country to be forgotten. Our debt to them can never be repaid, however we can honor them with our gratitude and patriotism.”
This annual ceremony will feature a variety of tributes to veterans and active military personnel, including guest speaker Director of Monroe County’s Veterans Service Agency Nicholas Stefanovic, essays by middle school students, and reflective music provided by Penfield Pops Band.
A highlight of the ceremony will be Penfield’s traditional Presentation of Roses. During this time, community members honor and remember active or fallen military personnel with a rose placed on the Veterans’ Memorial monument stone. Those who are interested in participating in this presentation should call 585-340-8651.
